Description
Pink Floyds Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Stereo. Rare mix of 1st & 2nd pressing.
Other copies have sold for £80 and are for sale for £120 on Discogs (links to prove this are below)
Do not miss the chance to own this rare edition of a classic Floyd album. This is a mixture of a 1st and 2nd pressing. The vinyl is a first pressing (YAX 3419-1 & YAX 3420-1) but with different labels (as shown in the photos). The sleeve appears to be the second pressing as described below and shown in the photos.
The sleeve is laminated, has the File under Popular : POP GROUPS label in the top right. White background as opposed to the first pressing grey one.
The condition of the vinyl is NM/Excellent. I am listening to it now and there are no skips or jumps. Minimal crackles and pops on quiet parts of the record. Nothing that distracts from the listening experience.
The scuffing seen in the last photo that shows the matrix YAX 3420-1 is not visible without the use of the zoom on my camera. I have looked several times under lamps and it is not there. That is how minor the wear is. The centre hole is not damaged or misshaped.
The sleeve has some wear to it. Where the record is inserted has frayed a little. There is a ring mark on the back cover from the vinyl. But honestly, the photograph makes it look worse than it is.
This record has sold for some high prices, one recently sold for £80 on eBay and one is for sale on Discogs for £120!

This is another description explaining why it is a rare record from another auction.
"The pink floyd. 'piper at the gates of dawn.' columbia scx 6157. Stereo 1967. Features: the sleeve is fully laminated. Emi inner sleeve. 'sold in uk' text. Black/silver label with boxed emi logo. All these features are relating to the second pressing. However the matrix is not yax 3419-2, 3420-2, for 2nd press, but is 3419-1, 3420-1 for 1st press !!!!! The printers changing the features from 1st to 2nd did not change all at the same time, in this case having 1st press vinyl surplus"
