THE VERY FIRST pressing of this magnificent album release! Most that one finds are later reissues and imports so exceptionally rare !

As initially released on LP and later cassette tape, side one of Live Peace in Toronto 1969 comprised John's set, which included his two Plastic Ono Band singles for the year, "Give Peace A Chance" and a preview of the yet-to-be released at the time of the show "Cold Turkey;" "Yer Blues" from the White Album; and some favored covers of 1950s rock and roll. Side two comprised Yoko's set, including the b-side to "Cold Turkey," "Don't Worry Kyoko," and featuring her trademark caterwauling stage act, which was not quite as well received as Lennon's performance. The album ends with Lennon, Clapton, and Voorman leaning their guitars against the amplifiers to create a sustained roar of solid feedback, while Yoko continues screaming as the rest of the band leaves the stage.

Unlike many Lennon and Beatles albums, the individual guitars are clearly distinguishable in the stereo mix, with Lennon's toward the left channel and Clapton's toward the right. Also, the movie mix of the soundtrack offers stronger vocals by Ono during "Yer Blues", and Clapton during "Give Peace A Chance".

In the Performance of "Give Peace a Chance" on the lyric of the final verse, John changes it:

Tommy Jones and Tommy Cooper and Somebody!.

Live Peace in Toronto 1969, though not making the UK listings, was a US hit album, reaching #10 and going gold. The original LP came with a 13 month 1970 calendar. Those who purchased one of the three tape versions (reel to reel, cassette or 8-track) received a post card for the calendar redeemable by mail.

Dark Apple label format in excellent condition . No rips or tears or discoloration of any kind. Later copies of this album were much lighter Apple labels but these are the very first issue with a rich, dark green coloration and  appear in  fantastic format ! Just a light spindle trace only !

Album Cover was one of the most famous of the seventies!!!Fully laminated single G&L sleeve . Later issues were unlaminated with a slight glossy finish. This lamination is thick and supremely reflective, projecting a mirror like sheen. Coloration is unfaded , vivid and strong like Lennon’s personality. The white fluffy cloud is suspended in the eternal blue oblivion of sky and is a poignant cover design .  Awesome visual with extremely light ring wear,  hardly visible on reverse face. Some insignificant surface peel on lower edge . Hardly any creasing observed and vertical opening edge is excellent, with no thickening apparent. Beautifully maintained! Slight buffeting on corner points but make no mistake, this is a true masterpiece of lennon genius and represents what he lived for…. One of the best representations of tranquillity ,  etched on this magnificent album sleeve . Excellent condition ! A very impressive exhibit of a truly inspiring album cover .

he always took great care with our album covers," says Yoko Ono. "We wanted them to be statements in themselves." For the cover of Live Peace, Ono and John Lennon chose a painting by Yves Klein. ("John and I were being very artsy at that point in our lives," Ono says.) Called simply Blue, the work depicts a sky of pure, sparkling azure; the Lennons introduced into that image a single cloud. "By us putting a cloud there," says Ono, "it suddenly became the real sky -- and the real world -- as opposed to perfection."

Thick cut, heavy weight giant. Later issues were light, flexible and flimsy. This vinyl gives a buzz when held. The very first UK pressing of this sensational Ono band classic . Notice that side 2 has the wider run off grooves ,  never found on later repressings so confirms that this is the genuine vintage first release and what a beauty it is !Highly valued in RRPG-£100 + very, very scarce pressing… Still retains a glorious sheen and just a hint of play with some light surface detected but no deep scratches. A gem of an example of this mega historic release .

The genius of his music is delivered through clear channels and the listener is treated to Lennon’s natural performance in front of a very large audience. The tracks that he chose for  this  album, are some of his best known and the genius of the man is exemplified throughout . Performing at Toronto's Rock and Roll Revival festival a month or so after completing Abbey Road, John Lennon and a hastily assembled line up consisting of Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton on guitar, Klaus Voorman on bass, and Alan White on drums shocked and delighted a huge audience at Varsity Stadium. Featuring timeless rock & roll classics such as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Money," "Dizzy Miss Lizzie" and (at the time) new Lennon numbers "Yer Blues," "Cold Turkey," and "Give Peace a Chance" - the band rollicks through a raw, but authentic rock & roll set with great vocals by Lennon and awesome guitar work from Clapton.
