Description

Please Please Me, The Beatles

PMC 1202, First Pressing

Black & Gold Parlophone label

Outer Sleeve
Laminated edition with mono top right. Parlophone logo top left with pound sign. Rear features EMITEX advert bottom right and The Parlophone Co. Ltd bottom left. PMC 1202 top right. The rear has been taped along the top and the bottom. This doesn't show on the front but is clear on the back. The front cover is in good condition for its age, the corners are curved with use. There are some creases along the sleeve. This is in reasonable condition for a used album of its age.

Inner Sleeve
This is in quite poor condition. The left side has split two thirds of the way to the bottom and the right one third. It is creased up and the inner plastic film has come away from the paper on one face. The other is still attached. It features the EMITEX wording on both sides.

Vinyl
The disc is perfectly flat with many usage scratches but no major gouges. None of the scratches can be felt by hand but I am pretty sure there would be plenty of pop & hiss and the odd jump here and there. The surface has a good sheen. I don't have access to a record player so I can't play it. Black & Gold label with large PARLOPHONE across the top. XEX.421 to the left and PMC1202 to the right. 4 songs are wrongly credited to Dick James Mus. Co. XEX 421 1N is stamped into the vinyl. Made in Gt Britain runs along the outer curve. There is a visible ridge approx 1cm in from the vinyl. This is not visible on side 2. Mother stamped 1H.
Side 2: XEX.422 to the left. PMC 1202 to the right. XEX 422 1N stamped into the vinyl. The label on side 2 is in better condition than side 1. Mother stamped 12 GP.

Please feel free to ask any questions. My parents owned the record from day one when they bought it and it has been around the house ever since. Nobody knew it had any worth so it is fairly well played. Please do not offer me any "buy-it-now" prices as I will not sell it outside of the auction.

Happy bidding!!
