Description
Recluctant auction for our Please Please Me album by The Beatles.
If you are reading this description you are a serious player and are after the best version available in the world.
This is a survivor LP from 1963 - we didn't know what we had until we searched the internet.
We have had the LP professionally cleaned and treated and will include the receipt and details as part of the auction - pics attached
No skips whilst being played!
I have attached pics of the LP and will describe it's features below to demonstrate just how early and rare this version is:-
- First press
- Black and gold label
- Emitex advert on the rear of the cover
- Ernest J Day & Co on the front cover
- Photo by Angus McBean
- Dick James Music Company credited for : "I saw her standing there", "Misery", "Do you want to know a secret", "There's a place"..............all incorrect and only shown on the first press
- The isn't a circular groove, on either side, on the centre label (usually at the top) - a groove demonstrates that it's a second press
- The professional collectors out there will want to know which version of the first press this is:-
Side 1:- --- (1) first Lacquer = "1N" Shown at 6 o'clock --- (1) first mother = "1" Shown at 9 o'clock --- (11) stamper = "GG" Shown at 3 o'clock
Side2:- --- (1) first lacquer = "1N" Shown at 6 o'clock --- (1) first mother = "1" Shown at 9 o'clock --- (1) first stamper = "1" Shown at 3 o'clock
