Description
"Please Please Me" mono vinyl LP by The Beatles. Released in 1963 on Parlophone, catalogue number PMC 1202. This is what is generally regarded as a "fourth pressing" from the mid-sixties.
Condition:
- Vinyl: EX Visual inspection rates a strong EX, with just a few very light marks. The only significant exception is a mark which follows the groove for about one rotation on track 1/side 1, which is clearly visible, but does not affect play. Sound quality is outstanding EX+. Overall, a cracking copy, particularly considering its age. Label lettering is yellow-on-black (see label scans at bottom of this listing).
- Sleeve: EX Flipback sleeve in excellent order, with laminated front, manufactured by "Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London". Tiny bumps to top-left/bottom-left corners, but no other edge wear. Overall, it has been extremely well cared for. Original poly-lined "Take good care of your microgroove records..." inner sleeve. See below for pictures of back cover and inner sleeve.
While this is "only" a fourth press, in all other respects it's a very nice copy of a classic LP.

I grade my records according to the Record Collector Grading System:
- MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.
- EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
- VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
- GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
I use (+/-) suffixes where condition falls between these categories. I try to grade conservatively, to avoid disappointment.
