Description:
The Replacements defined the Minneapolis music scene of the early '80s with a string of seminal Twin/Tone releases that exploded with their unruly, soulful sound and Paul Westerberg's shaggy lead vocals and distinctive songwriting. They signed to Sire in 1985 and released four now-classic albums that made the 'Mats one of the most influential postpunk bands ever'.  Drawing similarly stellar reviews for Pleased To Meet Me the band proved that moving on from their indie roots never diminished their fiery indie spirit.
