Description
Rock in Portugal took its first and timid steps in the late 1950s, receiving a letter of freedom in 1960, with the historic EP “Caloiros da Canção”. All that decade lived in the shadow of 45-rotation discs and it was necessary to wait until 1969 to watch the edition of the first studio albums of the genre.
The Pop Five Music Incorporated, authors of the LP “A Parte”, published by the Orfeu label, by Arnaldo Trindade, in November 1969. The group had been formed in Porto about two years before and had Paulo Godinho (brother of Sérgio Godinho ), Tozé Brito (who later moves to Quartet 1111), Pi Vareta (the falsetto voice in today's music), David Ferreira (nothing to do with the homonymous record editor) and Álvaro Azevedo (later drummer for Arte & Office and even today in Trade Workers).
