Portishead – Dummy – Go Beat – 828 522-1 – 1994 First Pressing – A-1, B-1 – Complete with original inner sleeve and Go Beat Portishead postcard – EX+/Near Mint
This auction is for the first UK pressing of Portishead’s debut album Dummy released on Go Beat Records in 1994.
It comes from my own collection and was purchased shortly after release in August 1994.
It has rarely been played and comes complete with the original inner sleeve and an unused Go Beat Portishead postcard – which is now very hard to find.
Inner sleeve and postcard are both in near mint condition. Outer sleeve is nearly mint but has a very slight indentation on the spine just above the Dummy album title which I have attempted to photograph. This does not detract from the overall condition of the sleeve.
The vinyl has only been played a handful of times at most and still retains its original sheen. Vinyl has some very light marks from being removed from the original inner sleeve, none of which impact on the overall sound quality of the recording. These are only visible in extremely bright light. As a result of these I would therefore rate the vinyl as being between Excellent + and Near Mint.
Labels are both in near mint condition.
The Matrixes are 828 522-1 – A-1 and 828 522-1 – B-1.
The record will be packaged in a professional record mailer with additional cardboard reinforcement.
