Description

Prestige 1002, “Down Home Blues” with Brownie McGhee, vocals and guitar; Sonny Terry, vocals and harmonica; from 1960. Original DG vinyl plays mostly at NM, but there is light static in parts; there are a few visible sleeve scuffs. The heavy laminated jacket has strong seams all around, and negligible corner wear. The jacket back is slightly soiled with some staining at upper left (see scan). There is no ringwear, writing, bending, or stamps. Songs are “Let Me Be Your Big Dog”, “Pawn Shop”, “You Don’t Know”, “Betty and Dupree”, “Back to New Orleans”, “Stranger here”, “Fox Hunt”, “I’m Prison Bound”, “Louise, Louise”, “Baby, How Long”, and “Freight Train”. This is the remainder of a set of Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this fall on eBay. Many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
