Description

Prestige Bluesville 1060, “Shake ‘Em On Down” with Wade Walton, vocals, guitar, and harmonica; Memphis Mango, second guitar; from 1963. Blue trident-label vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The heavy jacket is in the original shrink wrap and almost like new, with just a bit of corner wear at the open end. There is otherwise no ringwear, bends, writing, or stamps, and the jacket is very clean with a bit of age toning on one corner where the shrink has torn away. Songs are “Big Fat Mama”, “Choo Choo De Shoo Shoo”, “Short Hair Woman”, “Forty-Four”, “Kansas City Blues”, “Rock Me Mama”, “Blues, Stay Away from Me”, “Parchman Farm”, “Big Six”, and “Shake ‘Em On Down”. This is Clarksdale, Mississippi barber Wade Walton’s only LP. It contains several haunting blues, plus an improvised talking number about his visit to Parchman Farm with two northern guys to collect folk songs. This is the remainder of a set of Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this fall on eBay. Many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
