Originally an offshoot of the primordial Rolling Stones, lead guitarist Dick Taylor broke away to form The Pretty Things in 1962. Securing a major label deal within months of their inception, the band attracted press attention with their unfettered power and controversial, unkempt appearance, their raunchy style of R&B spawned a run of successful releases. By 1967, The Pretty Things had become immersed in the UK underground psychedelic scene, developing a more harmony-led, experimental sound. Parachute was the bands fifth album released in 1970. Both SF Sorrow and Parachute have since become classics, and still, in my mind remain underrated by many. The Pretty Things are scheduled to perform there last gig this December 2018 in London.

Sleeve:  Unipak sleeve, all edges/sides are true, no rips, splits or writing. Small creases, signs of light handling/wear while spine has scuffing and there is small sticker residue on top front. There is also a visible export ‘clip’ on opening edge -  all sounds a lot worse worse than it is (see photos) graded VG/VG+ given that the export clip is acceptable.

Vinyl: Heavy thick quality vinyl retains its original gloss - light wispy hairlines and a couple of light scuffs from sleeve removal and light play only graded EX

Audio: Plays through clean, good sound, clean separation - no pips, pops, crackle or nasty surprises - graded EX+

With regards to age, I do not regard ‘good for age’ as a condition. Condition is primarily care related.

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I am a collector the few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or in this case a bit of thinning every now and again. MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. 

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
