Description
Primal Scream - All Fall Down 7" UK P/S 1985 Creation Records CRE014 Rare. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter.
Some dried water damage to the wraparound picture sleeve and inner liner - all clearly photographed. Vinyl is utterly unaffected and plays beautifully.
This is Primal Scream’s debut single. At this time Bobby Gillespie was still moonlighting as the skinny shaggy haired drummer for Jesus and Mary Chain, so this was his side hustle.
It’s impossible to guess from this legendary slice of fey, jangly feedbacky C86 gloriousness that in a few years Gillespie would be a leather-trousered international indie sex god, creating a new fusion of dance, rock, indie and psychedelia.
But that would be another day. Like his parent band JAMC, Primal Scream worked with Creation Records and these two songs encapsulate that C86 moment - the acerbic guitars, Spector-like drums, Pete Shelley style vocals and songs about love and little else.
Just like the follow up single, Crystal Crescent, I think hat the b-side “It Happens” is far and away the better of the two songs - but everyone has an opinion, don’t they.
Despite the slight water damage to the sleeve, this is a really nice copy, that’s been in my collection since new. I doubt you’ll be very disappointed with it.

All records will be posted in Defendapack Twistwrap double thickness record mailers and with the disc *outside* the card sleeve and inside a new plastic sleeve, so there will be no new corner damage or holes in the edges caused by the LP sliding inside the sleeve in transit.
All existing wear, tear and damage done to the sleeve when I was a teenager and didn't think the state of my records was any concern of anyone else other than myself, will be either described or will be clearly photographed.

As a personal note: this is my own vinyl collection. I'm downsizing, so saying a ceremonial goodbye to my LPs and singles that have been part of my life for the best part of 50 years. I'm not a dealer: these records were bought to listen to - in many cases to listen to A LOT. And they've been with me through goods times and bad times. I'm a very careful owner, so they're mostly in really condition for their age (wish I could say that for other things), but none of them are in mint condition.
As part of saying goodbye, I'm first cleaning them using a DISCO-ANTISTAT RECORD CLEANER, and to be honest they have never sounded this good - in some cases they're better than the day I bought them. Then I'm giving them a last play through using a brand new stylus, paying attention to any surface noise, audible scratches etc. I'm noticing that vinyl really took a plunge in quality around 1990 :-) both in weight and sound. Because of this last play through, I can honestly tell you what they sound like after a clean.
This is a slow process - about ten records a week - so please save my eBay selling page and see if anything else you're interested in crops up: having been raised under the wing of John Peel, it's a very eclectic collection.
