Product/Provenance
Face Down was the third and final promotional single to be released from Prince's 19th album. The promo single contains three remixes of the song which are not available elsewhere.
A full commercial release was planned, but at the time of the single's promotional release, the division of EMI Records that handled the promotion of Emancipation was shut down as part of a restructuring of the whole entertainment conglomerate, and promotion of the album ceased as a result (which itself led to a cancellation of the commercial single).
Only available on 12” as a promotional single, due to no commercial release. Only released in the UK & US promotionally.
