Prince, the solitary genius who passed away suddenly and tragically at the young age of 57 on April 21, 2016, continues to exert a profound influence on artists and music fans worldwide. The first vinyl release of his 38th album, HITnRUN phase one, originally released ten years ago in September 2015, has been confirmed! Prince, who famously emphasized the importance of albums in his speech at the 57th Grammy Awards in February 2015 preceding this release, announced his 38th album, HITnRUN phase one (original title: HITnRUN phase one), released in September of that year. For this work, Prince selected the then 25-year-old Joshua Welten not only as producer but also as co-composer on every track. It is an experimental work that also conveys the seasoned genius musician's ambition for the future, effortlessly taking on the role of nurturing the next generation. Production spanned two years, from 2013 to 2015.
