Description

This album features that undersung Prince Lasha, whose name is sometimes spelled Prince Lawsha and pronounced (I believe) la shay. He plays strong flute and alto sax with an excellent back-up from pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Cecil McBee, and drummer Jimmy Lovelace. Recorded in NYC in 1965, first released by Enja. Here it is Inner City IC 3044. There are five cuts, all by Lasha and unsurprisingly Hancock gets a lot of solo space but does not dominate.
