This album was purchased from The Electric Fetus which is the only retail store in the world that were selling these.
This is a rare limited pressing and the minute people start opening these the number of sealed records will go down, naturally increasing future prices.  Please note my pictures show two albums, however, I am only selling one with this auction and will sell the other one separately.  I am a hardcore Prince Fam and have other items that will be coming up, but this is definitely one of the rarer items I am proud to own, the record is sealed and perfect, I am confident the value will continue to increase, but for now one lucky bidder gets a rare piece of Prince history, earlier in the timeline.

 I do intend to sell some of my rare memorabilia that I have spent 29 years collecting. I only hope the items I end up selling provide years of enjoyment to the next passionate Prince lover.  Rest assured album will be overly protected when shipped, I make sure it cannot move in the packaging.

Recorded July 1984 at Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse, Eden Praire, MN

Michael Howe, the Prince Estate's official Vault Archivist, said: I spotted the two-inch multitrack reel in the Vault some weeks back while doing a 1984-era inventory. After retrieving my jaw from the floor, we took the reel upstairs, analysed it, put it up on the Studer 24 track machine, and digitized it to 24/192. Even our faders up rough mix was compelling enough to indicate that this was something very special indeed.

Note this is the RARE (only 1,984 albums) PURPLE VINYL LIMITED EDITION RECORD STORE DAY version available only at Electric Fetus and not the black vinyl or picture disc which will have separate releases in non-limited quantities.  I believe the "regular" version comes out on May 25th, I think once the general public hears this song they will fall in love with it, will curiously research it and discover our "purple" copy.  I would guess by now several have been opened and played meaning far less than 1,984 sealed ones exist any longer.  In this big world of ours there are quite a few people that will want this and will drive up the price.  Get it now while it is obtainable.
