For Auction: PRINCE – Still Waiting & Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad? b/w Sexy Dancer - Promotional 12 inch single PRO-A-870, 1979 Warner Bros. Records Inc. Original First Pressing (not the counterfeit!) Outer sleeve is the original WB die-cut cardboard cover for their singles of that time featuring a two-tone purple hype sticker that calls out the song titles with album ID and promo number. This is a very hard to find example in this pristine condition.
Condition: Vinyl is in NM condition and never played by me. The record appears to have never been played at all. The cover is NM showing a small crease in the lower R corner, hardly noticeable. The side 2 label shows small area of bubbling over the WB logo where I presume a price sticker was removed, no tearing or discoloration. Please review photos for condition verification.As a collector I’ve always subscribed to the fact that Promotional Only records are more rare and valuable than the standard releases. The simple truth is they produced the promotional items in far fewer numbers and in some cases the promo items are one of a kind, increasing their value even more.
The item(s) in this auction were bought and collected by me when they were originally released. I am a long time fan of Prince and his protégés. Every item I am selling is original and NOT a re-issue, re-release, copy or bootleg. Almost every record I'm selling has never been played by me, but in the case of promotional items they may have been played by radio stations or by the person who owned them before me. Shipping: All opened vinyl records are carefully removed from their covers, placed in paper sleeves (if needed) and packaged for shipping outside their covers with cardboard between and packed in special shipping boxes designed specifically for shipping records.
