This week I am offering some superb condition original and / or best pressings of jazz lps, and will list more if the response is good.

Pristine vinyl 1950's (or to be more precise, pre 1961, post 55) Thelonious Monk trio Plays Duke Ellington UK Mono Pressing. Oscar Pettiford on Bass and Kenny Clarke drums.

2 shillings and 5 pence old money duty stamp to side 2 label. I bought this from the estate of a record shop owner, he was a jazz fan like me and you, a broad and deep collection so nothing overplayed, all very well kept and played on high end equipment. These are those sharp edged pressings, which has resulted in a neat centre top edge split, also age darkening to rear, so I am calling the sleeve VG plus and the lp Near mint, no issues. The label photos are not lying, it's a clean original, where most of these will have been played to death on a dansette or worse. This is a delight, there are no bad 50s Monk lps.

Record Grading: Near Mint, played near mint without being cleaned on an ortofon mono cart (nice quality pressing).
