Description
PROFESSOR LONGHAIR NEW ORLEANS PIANO This is the original ATLANTIC LP released in the 70s as VOLUME 2 of ATLANTIC'S BLUES ORIGINALS series. Produced by Ahmet Ertegun with Jerry Wexler and Herb Abramson, these recordings were made in 1949 and 1953 in New Orleans and feature the piano and vocals of the legendary Professor, Roy Byrd. There are 13 wonderful tracks including TIPITINA which would later be covered by Dr. John and the Professor's own big hit, the rollicking IN THE NIGHT. The gatefold jacket comes with the original ATLANTIC inner sleeve.
