Original 1969 "Promotional" first pressing of one of the two RAREST Bob Seger albums...a first pressing on the lime green Capitol label which was only produced (with lime green labels) for some 18 months and highly collectible....better yet, even though Bob Seger restricted the album from ever being reissued, it's a great album, noted for the sensual 6+ minute (& flipped-out!) "CAT" which alone is pretty much worth the score...and no doubt one of the reasons Bob didn't want the Lp relisted with his groaning orgasmic grunts in the sexual segment of the song...

The album contains four songs with a Seger writing credit: "Noah" (with the memorable and late-'60s-era phrase "re-synthesize your own ego") and "Death Row," both of which Seger wrote alone, along with "Innervenus Eyes" and "Cat," credited to Seger, Honaker and Perrine.

"Innervenus" is an absolute killer rocker with terrific Seger vocals. "Death Row" is also a powerful rocker. Since it was the flip of "2+2=?," it may have been a holdover from the first album. It certainly seems to have a different production quality.

Neme's "Lonely Man" is also classic, for one reason: Seger does the vocals. But on "Jumpin' Humpin' Hip Hypocrite" -- it's just ridiculous to hear Seger doing the back-up vocals even though it's a cool tune.

"Cat" is a long (6:20) psychedelicized trip with trancy drums and studio effects, centered around the singer's attempt to pick up a clueless hippie girl named Cat. The lyrics could have been improvised during the recording session; the delivery goes from ultra cool and hip to orgasmic grunts amid a dense beat. the most far-out of any Seger recordings...

Seger: "'Noah' is about...'Lay back, you've had your fun. Let them do it for a while.' That's what the album's about, too. How they blew it."

Noah, the album, is not available in any format, except, if 'lucky' in used "collector" record stores. Yours will cost you (as we've spotted) up to $150 if the shop/seller has any idea what he's selling...

CONDITION: The cover has the standard circle 'promo' drill at top right...otherwise all around strong and collectible VG++(+) fitting fine into most any music library without real need to ever upgrade.

The vinyl is bright and mainly clear both sides, has a light scuff, visual then VG++(+) and plays top level (M-)

A cool addition to anyone's music library!
