Description
This is the original Good Vibrations GOT6 release of this single, not to be confused with the later re-issue from Rough Trade. It features the decidedly “I did this at home all by myself” paper outer cover designed by Terry Hooley and which similar concept was used on a few of the very limited quantity of records ever released by Good Vibrations in their own right. Good Vibrations was essentially a very down at heel record shop, but Terry attracted young customers who formed bands and whenever possible, he was always broke, Terry would record them and release a few singles. Saving money was the impetus behind the homemade covers! I hung around the shop myself, hence I ended up with a few of the singles. Protex were an interesting young band but never really decided whether they wanted to totally surrender their lives to sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll.
These original good vibes pressings, with the flimsy paper covers intact, are hard to track down.
This record has never knowingly been played by me.
