You don't know this one, do you? IT IS INSANE. It's like you're listening to two people fu(c)king while a dude messes around with a synthesizer and contorts classical standards with tape loop manipulation. When Miller isn't using romantic classical music as an aphrodisiac (Ravel and Mozart; Side B), he is veering into the leftfield of Moog experimentalism (Side A), creating walls of noise and crafting pornographic sound collages. Amazing. Call it "intergalactic aural porn." Orgasmic/galactic sex sounds backed by sci-fi-bleep-bleep Mooging. Way more bizarre than Mort Garson's similarly-themed Sounds for Sensuous Lovers. WAY MORE BIZARRE. You didn’t think it was possible to be more bizarre than that? Well, it is, and this LP proves it. And in the midst of all the erotic moaning and groaning, along comes a nine and a half-minute keyboard freakout epic called ‘Midnight Waterfalls.’ If your mind and spirit weren’t already blown by the time you get to that third track, well … prepare to be amazed, because this guy Miller just throws everything to the keys and doesn’t let up for nearly ten minutes. Freakout … man, freakout is the understatement of the day. Shit is years ahead of its time. Ten years, probably.
Sinthesized is also very long, exceeding 45 minutes. Again, since we’re comparing this to Garson, Miller is again the victor, besting Sensuous by over 15 minutes. Bottom line: You get your money’s worth with this one, guaranteed.
Side question: What the hell was Yorkshire Records thinking when they released this X-rated oddball freak-out, from a guy, Miller, with no previous credits to his name, and no other albums in his discography?? Yorkshire was a pretty square classical music label, so this was definitely an outlier!
