Description
JUNGLE (private press, CO 3027)
- Condition : Cover (which is a plain black thick textured cover) is VG, moderate wear, one seam split about 4". Vinyl is about VG on side one and VG- on side two, a lot of light surface marks and hairline scratches, one rather ugly scratch on side two. Side one plays VG+ or better, minor faint surface noise under the music mainly in the quiet bits, the music is very well recorded and sounds clear and excellent- the LP does not have obvious groove wear from excessive play, it was just owned by someone who did not know anything about record care. Side two is a bit crackly at outset but cleans up quickly with the first cut playing mostly VG+ or so, the second cut is more like VG, about halfway through this cut the obvious scratch makes it appearance and it is audible as a click once per revolution thru the end of this cut and into the first minute or so of the third (final) track. This is not too annoying: sometimes you can hardly hear the scratch, at a few spots it's more noticeable, but this side is definitely worse than side one. Still, the music is very clear and to the forefront, not distorted from excessive play, the surface is mostly well down in the background. No skips were audible on my audition but I suppose it's possible one might appear with certain playback equipment. For what it's worth, I auditioned the LP on a Rega P25 / Benz Micro Ace cartridge which is very revealing of all flaws.
- Description : VERY rare 1969 original private press psychedelia, possibly from the east coast of the USA. This LP is on semi-translucent vinyl (see the pic below), if you hold it up to the light it's sort of brownish or purple. I think it was pressed at the same plant that did the John Fahey LP on Riverboat and some other custom-press LPs from the New England / NYC metro area in the 1960s. This is one of those LP's where the music is as good as the LP is rare, truly an excellent psych LP throughout. Two guitars, bass, drums, organ, vocals. Probably the rarest psych LP I've ever auctioned. I've described the condition both audible and visual as thoroughly as possible. Obviously this item is not for mint freaks but it's still a very enjoyable listen, the sound quality is actually quite good here, and you are not likely to see another one offered anytime soon. NO RETURNS on this one, due to the low grade.
- Buyer pays $6 for priority / insured shipment in USA; foreign billed at approximate cost. Combine multiple wins to save on shipping. PA residents must add 6% sales tax.
- All used LP's are cleaned on a VPI machine before grading.
- Records are shipped in a cardboard record mailer with sufficient padding, and the disc is removed from the jacket to prevent seamsplits.
- I do not end auctions early. No offense, but if you ask, you will not receive a reply, sorry.
- Please do not ask me to email you with a list of every song on an LP. If you are looking for a specific song, inquire with the name of the song, I'll check ASAP to see if it's on the LP, but I don't have time to type out the names of every track, sorry to say.
- I have been selling records via mail order since 1989. Bid with confidence!
