Paul Kantner/Jefferson Starship:Blows Against the Empire (RCA/1970)
Ultra rare pr0mo only clear vinyl edition of 2 or 3 hundred copies of Volunteer era Jefferson Airplane side project by Paul Kantner with an all-star cast of the San Francisco scene. A ture masterpiece of science fiction psychedelia. This version has a much clearer mix than the regular black vinyl press. Most noticeable here is the presence of Jerry Garcia superb banjo work on several tracks, rather buried in the regular very muddy mix.
This copy is in the original shrink wrap which still has attached the hype sticker listing the participants. It also includes the custom inner sleeve and booklet that were in the regular press.
The cover is in Ex condition. There is slight wear on the seams near the opening. Part of the shrink wrap is torn off; I've left it on primarily to retain the aforementioned sticker, which is in excellent shape (one corner a little wrinkled where some one apparently tried to peel it off). The inner sleeve is in excellent condition (slight yellowing near opening). The booklet is near mint. The record looks and plays Mint minus.
