Description

Jake Holmes:The Above Ground Sound of Jake Holmes (Tower/1967)
Mono version of the first of his 2 classic psych-folk LPs on Tower. This was more common than the 2nd, but far superior and more exciting in its music. Holmes sings backed only by his own guitar & 2 others, including Rick Randell who played with psych collector fave The Brain Police. The guitar work is quite extraordinary, both acoustic and electric (with some fuzz, too). This LP contains the original version of Dazed and Confused, complete with eastern-tinged fuzz solo, and soon after appropriated by Zed Leplin.
The cover is VG+. There are very small splits on the 2 seams and some light cracking (but no split on the spine). There is mild ringwear on the back. There's a small cutout hole in the upper right corner. The record looks and plays VG+. There are a moderate amount of light marks on both sides (more so Side 2). There is intermittent light crackling; only a couple of spots on Side 1; somewhat more, but not overwhelming on Side 2.
Shipping will be quoted with my post-auction message.

Check out my other auctions - Continuing my summer-long barrage of psych related LPs. Plenty more U.S. major label goodies and some nice private presses as well. Also some weird and strange records. Maybe even a surprise or two.
