Description
This is a one owner album from my personal collection. The vinyl looks and sounds excellent. The cover is also excellent. Regrettably, the inner sleeve is generic, which accounts for the adjusted price.
Public Image Ltd.'s (PiL) "First Issue" (1978) is a landmark post-punk album, John Lydon's defiant statement after the Sex Pistols, featuring a radical sound influenced by dub, noise, and avant-garde music, challenging punk's commercialism with abrasive basslines, repetitive grooves, and lyrics attacking media and idol worship, becoming a foundational record for genres like post-punk, new wave, and even inspiring later acts like LCD Soundsystem.
According to my research, this is a UK first pressing variant. I base this on the matrix/runout code on side A, "V-2114-A4̸̸ 3 4—PiL +"
In addition, there is no barcode on the cover, and the back cover includes the phrase, "PUBLIC IMAGE LTD WOULD LIKE TO THANK ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, THANK YOU.”
