I think the DECCA release of this opera was on HP's TAS list for a while. This Mobile Fidelity half speed master audiophile pressing is also a luscious package.
The box is in very good shape with minor shelf wear/scuffs. I purchased this brand new in the 80s and have cared for it well, but it has sat on the shelf for decades! Within the box there is a libretto reproduced with MFSL's "original master recording" logo across the top (very cool!) and housed in a pocket in the box lid. The LPs are sleeved in Mobile Fidelity's wonderful rice paper sleeves but they are also inserted into paper picture sleeves with the opera name and portrait photo. LPs rest in a foam padded insert at the bottom of the box.
LPs are Excellent to near mint -- again, I am the original owner and played this only a few times. There is a circle ring around the spindle hole where my Ariston RD-40 record clamp would leave a mark...this is not a sign of abuse, it's just what that turntable did. The lp surfaces appear shiny and clean upon visual inspection, there is some dust clinging to them. I would expect a pop or tick here and there as is usual of vinyl, but I know they have not been subject to any abuse.
