Description

"Puttin' It Down", a superb blues/R&B/soul album by Terry Evans, long-time collaborator with Ry Cooder, recorded by audiophile specialists Audioquest in 1995, so the raw recording quality is phenomenal. This is also a bit of a rarity - it is available on CD, but I've not seen an LP on eBay for a while.

Virtually all of the material was recorded live to 2-track, with overdubbing from 16-track on 3 songs only.  Unlike most audiphile records though, this one has great music too, played by top musicians - as well as Evans on guitar and vocal, we have Ry Cooder on guitar throughout, Jim Keltner on drums and George Bohannon on trombone. I've owned this from new (about 1996) and it has been one of my favourite albums, so it has been played quite a bit. Pressed on 180g vinyl, Audioquest AQ1038 on both the  label and lost wax. I have given it a good clean on my trusty Moth machine, and given it a careful check over - there are a few clicks here and there, but none last more than three rotations. I would stand my ground and maintain that the record is at least a VG+; the cover has been kept in a vinyl sleeve and well looked after, so it is at least a strong Ex.

I'm offering FREE POSTAGE, no reserve and a very sensible start price on this and all my vinyl records. It will come in a high grade mailer, with further internal packaging to protect the sleeve.  I'll be slowly selling off a large collection of rock, jazz (several Mosaic sets) and classical (including some SXL ED-1/2/3s) over the next few months, so please come back to my auctions.
