Description

Pygmy Unit - "Signals From Earth" from 1974. Self-released album (no label name given) of spiritual / free jazz from this very obscure group out of San Francisco. Album is divided into two parts: Primitive and Traditional Space. Features Frank Albright on flute and soprano; Darrell Devore on vocals, flute, bass, percussion; Marvin Kirkland on flute and percussion; Terry Wilson on percussion; John Celona on sax, Moog, percussion; Ron Grunn on bassoon flute; Jim Pepper on tenor sax. Also comes with a cool printed booklet that sheds some light on where they were heading... Record: EX ; Jacket: VG++ (it's just a plain white jacket with a small paste-on glued to the front).
