Condition: Used-Record Excellent // Cover VG+ This is the original cover not sold as a cut out bargain bin punched, drilled or cut corner deleted catalogue copy but the cover is not mint it does contains upper cover seam wear but not split also dark red ink inventory circle on upper left front cover-no water stains, rips, tape, writing, ring wear or creasing-

Summary: It was a few years prior to the sound of grunge bands dominating the Emerald cities local music scene. We are in 1984 when Seattle’s heavy metal and hard rock band Q5 released their debut studio album, Steel The Light. This is the first issue of Steel The Light, subsequent copies have different artwork for the jacket and are pressed outside of the USA. (Positively is in T-town 35 minutes south of Seattle) The nine song full length album of original material was penned by the quintet. The 12” vinyl was released on a private label. It is quite obscure outside of the northwest on Albatross Records.

The following year however, the album became widely accessible for it was rereleased on the British metal and hard rock independent label Music For Nations and received larger distribution.  A couple of Q5’s songs were also covered. Missing In Action was recorded by Wolf on their Devil Seed full length in 2014. Another song from Steel The Light album gained a national audience when hard rock band Great White recorded Ain’t No Way To Treat A Lady in 1996 for their Let It Rock album.

Then twice in 2002 the song was released on Great Whites Recover Album of cover songs for their US label Deadline Music & in France the Recover compilation CD and Vinyl was given the title The Final Cuts and released on the Axe Killer label. The following year Recover was released on CD in Russia on the Irond label. Ain’t No Way To Treat A Lady was penned in '84 by Steel The Light band members Floyd Rose guitar (inventor of guitar locking tremelo system) and vocalist Jonathan Scott Palmerston.     

Incidentally the song shares the same title with different lyrics written 11 years earlier by singer and songwriter Harriet Schock. Two years later  in '75 Schock saw her song Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady, that she wrote and recorded, nominated for a Grammy by Aussie vocalist “I Am Woman” recording artist Helen Reddy. Ain’t No Way To Treat A Lady went to #1 on the Billboard Easy Listening charts in the fall of ’75 for Reddy. But headbangers like Kidd Rhythm think of Q5 and Great White when the conversation turns to "Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady."  Ain't got time for B-4.
