Q65 – Revival. Pseudonym VP99.009. Netherlands release. NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM. This item does not come factory sealed. Comes housed in an open-ended poly sleeve; the disc will be placed outside the jacket for shipping. Originally issued early 1969, This edition issued in 2001. Remastered; all tracks feature the mono mix. Though the jacket artwork implies stereo, MONO is printed on the labels, center above the spindle hole. Limited edition of 1000 copies pressed on 180g vinyl. DESCRIPTION:  Along with the Outsiders this was one of Holland’s top groups. They predated the MC5 and Stooges by a couple years, their sound was powerful blues derived garage rock with a nasty edge. Willem Bieler’s vocals were spit out with venom and in Frank Nuyens they possessed one of rock’s great underrated guitarists. Revival was their second album, released in early1969. Prior to that Q65 had released a superb 1966 debut titled Revolution, plenty of great non-lp singles and an outstanding blues rock EP titled Kjoe Blues. It was a time of transition for the group, Bieler was tired of the club circuit and opted out for military service. Other members were making new music under the name Circus. These new tracks reflected the psychedelic era but it wasn’t long before Circus folded and producer Hans Van Hemert put together a new Q65 album titled Revival. Revival is actually a compilation made up of earlier non-album singles, stray album tracks and Circus material. Much of the music had more of a psychedelic vibe but still bore many of the classic hallmarks of Q65 and makes for a great spin. A band worthy of your further investigation.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers with inside packing.
