I have too much to say about this one. Diversity abounds, the cover songs are excellent, and the album is heavier, rowdier, and more energetic than almost anything else from the year. Whether they're busting out the blues, dabbling in subtle psychedelia, or simply rocking the hell out, every song here is fantastical and bursting with personality. Their renditions of I'm A Man, Get Out Of My Life, Woman, and Spoonfull are possibly the best versions of those songs that I've heard, Sour Wine is haunting, the possibly Yardbirds-influenced Just Who's In Sight is mystical and mysterious, and the short, but extremely sweet Down In The Bottom is barrels of awesome - I really wish it hung around longer! The remainder is top notch too though. Every single song here is absolutely killer, except maybe Mr. Pitiful (a bit old fashioned sounding), Middle-Age Talk (lazy-day blues), and Bring It On Home (nice and tripped out, but overstays its welcome slightly). But I'm just nitpicking, this one is stellar from top to bottom, from front to back, from beginning to end, etc! A5, A8, B1, and B2 I fell in love with upon first listen, and after 4 or 5 more spins I was sold on the rest. This is probably my second favourite album from the Netherlands (just a pinch behind Golden Earring's Moontan).
