THIS RECORD IS ENCODED IN THE SQ FORMAT.
The cover has very light (almost not there), initial surface/edge wear that can be seen when held to the light...the top corners are fine, however, there is a minor crunch on the spine corner and a heavier crunch/wear with creasing at the slot corner....other wise the cover looks almost new.
The vinyl still looks close to new, with some light scuffs/age marks on it...this is definitely one of the cleanest playing copies of this album I have come across...anything I did hear is not noteworthy....a solid 9.5(+)!
I am using a SYSTEMDEK IIX (GRADO GOLD) and a DUAL 505-2 (ORTOFON OM10), both at 1.5G.
This is an incredible record even without the quad mix. Carlos Santana's seemingly natural ability to produce excellent music (even outside the boundaries of "hit" status) is beginning to fully blossom at this point in time. His musical stream of conciousness is transmitted to us in the screaming psychedelic growls his guitar emits in the solos of these fantastic compositions and covers of Latin influenced power rock.
It is a timeless album.
