Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. SCARCE 1973 "QUADRAPHONIC" with different song mixes from the 'regular' 1973 issue...
The Quadraphonic issue uses a then, specially designed SQ decoder permiting the a 4 channel sound separation (as opposed to the regular 2 channel) when playback is through the quad system or even surround sound receiver, resulting in completely different song mixes that can be detected even on the 'normal' stereo system. The record company changed around the song mixes (sounding like things were added) to enhance the quadraphonic 4-channel listening experience....

After a mid-summer gig in 1969, just before Beck disbanded his group with Rod Stewart – his escape option to refuse an invitation to play Woodstock, and which in the light of what happened to the other band on that same gig, Ten Years After, after their climaxing rendition at the festival , seems in hindsight a wisely premonitory decision -, the rhythm section of the gig’s headliners Vanilla Fudge (who were also about to split up) approached him with the suggestion to form a new band; had Beck accepted Tim Bogart and Carmine Appice’s offer, and they’d have filled in the vacant slot left by the demise of Cream, Blind Faith or Hendrix’s Experience and the trio would have been hailed as the ‘new supergroup’; several factors such as the almost fatal car-crash that threw Beck into an hospital bed deterred its birth, and the already chosen Cactus moniker would be used for a project that was destined to be a marginal foot-note in Rock’s History.
Three years of elusive commercial success would pass by before the cyclically frustrated Beck would reconvene with the coincidentally similarly a frustrated Bogart and Appice - who after several reincarnations of Cactus felt the group was heading to a dead end – and the trio finally decided to join forces; many circumstances apparently presaged this was a winning reunion, from the extrovert personality of the drummer - capable of easily pulling the guitarist out of the depressive moods that still manifested themselves as resilient side-effects of his car-crash -,to their mutual obsession for speed, hot-rods and motorcycles, and a shared passion for Soul, Funk and R&Blues.
Impaired by feeble vocal abilities that were no match to their impressive instrumental skills, this is nevertheless a great album, one that exudes a vital and raw energy; but although its power derives from an undisguised, intrinsic and spontaneous excitement, their talent and professionalism never lets the performances fall on pure exhibitionism or messed-up cacophony.The stone cold "Black Cat Moan" opens the effort with a heavy blues lean, while Lady showcases Beck's deft frenzy-fretboard skills. The first mellow song from the recording is "Oh to Love You", which features ex-Cactus member Duane Hitchings contributing with keys and mellotron arrangements. Side one is jammed-out with a rousing take of "Superstition".
Despite the light vibe of "Sweet Sweet Surrender", Beck lets loose as the ballad is brought to a big finish. "Why Should I Care" sounds like an upbeat pop rock cut, while the funky groove of "Lose Myself With You", with Beck adding pure seventies's wah-wah work, is one of the prime songs from the album. "Livin' Alone" is a four-minute roadhouse blues roller, which gives way to the laid back take on "I'm So Proud".
