A Night At The Opera (Pathe Marconi pressed on white vinyl A1/B1)

This very rare white vinyl LP was released by Pathe Marconi in France in 1976 and still includes the 'Special Disque En Couleur' on the front cover.

Visual grading

Side One is very clean and is relatively free of hairlines.  I can detect more hairlines on Side Two certainly and this is reflected in the grading.  However, there are no scratches or marks.

Play grading  

There is some crackle and three pops at the beginning of 'Death On Two Legs' but this interference soon disappears and the rest of the track plays with excellent audio and no further issues.  The  remainder of the side has only a little static in the quieter sections and plays with excellent clarity in my opinion for an LP of this age.  There are no other loud clicks or jumps on this side.

'The Prophet's Song' does play with some bizarre 'hiss' sadly but the level of it does decrease as the song continues.  'Love of my Life' has some quiet hiss also but ends about three minutes in.  It also plays with some crackle but is not particularly intrusive.  The remaining tracks play with intermittent crackle and a few light clicks but is still a good listen.

This vinyl has seen better days but in all honesty many may want to buy it for its rarity value.  It remains a very good listen and perfectly playable but is by no means Mint!

  Gatefold cover

The gatefold has seen better days but is still intact.  Whilst the edges are clean there is some staining and a few marks.  The wide spine has some wear also.  There is an address written on the inside and a few pencil marks that have been rubbed out but apart from that it is in very good shape.

Inner

The original inner is included.  It has some creasing and a small split on the bottom edge.

Labels

Both labels are in superb condition with barely any spindle wear.
