Up for auction is a very nice original pressing of the Queen album A Night At The Opera, originally released in the U.S. on Elektra Records (7E-1053) in 1975:
-Guaranteed original pressing, not reissue -Original green butterfly Elektra labels
-Matrix deadwax reads:
    -7E-1053 B-7 SP
    -7E-1053 A-5 ESRTD 11-25-75 -Has the correct November 1975 pressing date in run-out!
-Original embossed gatefold cover -Rare original butterfly & bricks Elektra inner sleeve!
-No UPC/bar code on cover -Vinyl comes in poly-lined audiophile inner sleeve
Note: True original pressings have the November 1975 pressing date etched in the matrix/deadwax.  Later pressings from the 1970s do NOT have this important first pressing mark!
Also, very few copies that you'll find have this original and date-correct Elektra "butterfly & bricks" inner sleeve like this one.  Most have common plain white paper inner sleeves.

Condition: These original white covers were very prone to wear and aging, but this one is preserved very nicely.  Front is nice, no ring wear, just some faint discoloration along left edge along with a light crease (hard to see).  Seams are nice, no splits or significant wear.  Corners are nice.  Interior looks nice, has a few yellow spots here and there but not serious (see photo).  Back is clean, some light rub top middle.  Still a very attractive and clean example of this cover. Grade: Very Good Plus Plus (VG++), much nicer than typical VG+ copies
Vinyl is beautiful, still has its original deep glossy shine.  No apparent scratches or scuffs, just some faint, superficial signs of having been taken out of paper inner sleeve a few times.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes.  Inner sleeve is crisp.  Looks like this record has maybe been played only once or twice previously but handled with care. Grade: Near Mint (NM)
