Description
A very rare South African pressing of the classic 1975 Queen LP “A Night At The Opera” containing Bohemian Rhapsody, You're My Best Friend
and more.
In lovely condition and with very early matrix endings which are;
Side 1: YAX 5063-2 Blair's
Side 2: YAX 5064-2 Blair’s - see photos.
Often with South African pressings, the UK or US metalwork was imported which was probably the case here as this is the superior BLAIRS cut.
The record has been thoroughly ultrasonically cleaned in our amazing Degritter and the vinyl has come up spotless and shiny with a few very minor scuffs & hairlines which do not affect playback whatsoever. Very clean labels and spindle holes.
Playback was monstrous! The dynamic range of this album is huge and blows the roof off in places. Modern reissues just don't cut it - this is how it was
always meant to sound - loud, clean & with deep bass, and Freddie's distinctive soaring vocals taking centre stage in the soundscape. No scratches,
jumping, sticking or loud pops. Some very light crackle in parts, mainly on the run in & between tracks, but nothing unusual for vinyl of this age.
The laminated gatefold sleeve is in strong & smooth condition with a few creases & minimal wear to corners and edges. Some light discolouration in parts but overall very good with no stains or writing The beginning of a tear to the top opening but minimal.
The original printed inner sleeve is included which has light wear but no splits.
To keep the record pristine after cleaning we have popped it into a brand new poly lined anti static inner sleeve - you will receive both.
Overall a lovely copy in sparkling clean condition which sounds amazing - all ready to pop straight onto your turntable & blast out!
