Queen : Hot Space A3 / B6

This very early pressing plays to a standard that is rarely heard today with only 3,4 seconds of interference as detailed below.  The cover is also in great condition and the lyric inner is almost 'as new'.

Visual grading

This is one visually stunning vinyl!  I can only detect one mega tiny spindle trace on the S1 label (it is easily missed!) and it is clear this vinyl has only been played once or twice maximum.  There are no hairlines and obviously no scratches and all i can find is one tiny 'speck' on S2.  To say it has a superb mirror-like glossy sheen is an understatement!  With beautifully clean run out grooves and labels this is a record has been remarkably well preserved over the years.  

Play grading  

With a stunning visual quality and no lead in static/crackle on the run in grooves you know this is going to play with superb audio and the first track 'Staying Power' does not disappoint!  It plays with Mint quality from the very first groove and the definition of the audio throughout is of the highest standard possible.  There is no 'muddiness' to the sound and it is obvious this vinyl has hardly been played.  A truly breathtaking start to S1 it could not play any better.

'Dancer' is of the same immaculate standard accept for a couple of static ticks right at the end of the fade out - the music has practically finished!  This track often plays with some distortion but that is certainly not the case here and the clarity and depth of the sound is again stunning.  This easily qualifies as Mint-.

The underrated 'Back Chat' continues in the same way with no interference at all not even a solitary dust tick.  So far the audio on this side is 'high end' there is nothing to fault it.  With only a couple of static ticks at the end of the fade out again this is another Mint- track without question.

'Body Language' is nigh on perfect apart from a minimal amount of light static in a couple of very brief sections.  There are no clicks or pops and no intrusive crackle either.  This is still a Near Mint version and plays with superb clarity overall.

As any Queen fan knows 'Action This Day' regularly plays with some distortion but this is quite possibly the 'cleanest' version I have heard in many a year.  It is stunning!  Apart from one very quiet tick this is as close to perfection that you will find and even the long fade out has no 'background'.  A Near Mint end to the side although I am sure many would say a Mint- grade is deserving.

Again there is no static on the run in grooves and 'Put Out The Fire' then plays with stunning power and definition from start to finish.  There is no distortion and the sonic quality is so impressive, there is just nothing to fault.  Once more I am running out superlatives!  This is Mint I am confident in saying.

The piano intro on 'Life Is Real' is 'as new' but after the first chorus there is one click.  This may be due to a pressing fault as there is nothing on the vinyl to explain it.  The remainder plays with wonderful precision and depth and with no other interference.  In essence this is mint- but for that one second so an Ex+ grading is probably fair.

Both 'Calling All Girls' and 'Las Palabras De Amor' are 100% stunning!  Let's not forget this record is now 37 years old - it is just so rare to find this album playing with such immaculate clarity.  I cannot praise these two tracks highly enough as there is just no 'background' of any kind, there is not even a dust to be heard.  They are Mint and as I often say I listen to every second of the vinyls I sell in order to provide an accurate grading.

I am delighted to say 'Cool Cat' is of the same breathtaking standard.  This is so impressive when you consider how quiet this track is and even the fade out plays perfectly.  Another Mint track for certain.

The classic 'Under Pressure' begins with great precision but after 10 seconds there are three light clicks due to a tiny speck on the record that refuses to move!  This is a shame because apart from that it plays with superb clarity and depth and no other interference.  The 'finger click' fade out is superb with only a couple of mega faint dust ticks.

In summary this vinyl plays with incredible depth and warmth and with very little to detract from the super impressive audio.  S1 in particular is immaculate and S2 plays with a clarity that is equal to that accept for four seconds of interference which is still pretty good!  I would say 98% of this early pressing is 'as new' and the sonic quality is first class.

The Cover

The cover is very impressive with hardly any shelf wear.  The edges have have very little rubbing and the spine is also very clean with only a couple of tiny 'dings' and a little creasing towards the bottom.  The corners are in great condition with no obvious wear and the opening edge has no handling wear at all.  The front cover has just one small white mark top right where there may have once been a price sticker but apart from that it is in lovely condition with no other marking.  The back cover has no marking although there is a little 'crimping' lower right next to the spine.  On the whole this is a very strong robust cover with no real wear and has obviously been hardly handled down the years.

The Lyric Inner

The glossy inner is as close to perfection as is possible!  There are no side splits and no creasing and all you can see is one mega tiny rub on the top edge.

The Labels

They are in stunning immaculate condition with no marking/writing and as stated only one mega tiny spindle trace on the S1 label that is incredibly difficult to spot!  They don't come cleaner than this!
