Visual grading

Visually the vinyl is stunning and I can only detect a very small number of mega faint sleeve removal hairlines.  It practically looks as new!  There are no scratches or marks and it would be difficult to find a better looking one and it still retains a beautiful glossy sheen after all these years.  S1 has hardly any spindle wear with just a little more on S2 and the run out grooves in particular are extremely clean.  This vinyl is in near perfect condition and has hardly been handled.  A stunning example.

Play grading  

'Staying Power' on S1 plays with stunning quality and no interference whatsoever.  There is a great depth to the music that belies its 35 years and this underrated song plays with perfect clarity.  This 'high end' audio continues throughout S1 and the sound is quiet simply Mint in every way and it's not often you hear this album playing with such sublime quality.  'Back Chat', a personal favourite, has superb depth and clarity of sound but like I say this goes for every track on this side.  'Action This Day' also plays with very little of the distortion that is so often prevalent on the early pressings.  There is no static or crackle and no clicks or pops on this side at all.  This is audio of the highest standard, stunning.

'Put Out The Fire' on S2 again impresses with wonderful quality.  It plays loud and true with no 'background' or distortion.  A superb start to this side.  'Life Is Real' has a minimal amount of light static on the first 5 seconds and then plays with excellent clarity and just the odd light dust tick.  This is no way detracts from the overall sound and the playback is still of a superb standard.  'Calling All Girls' has Mint quality audio as does 'Las Palabras De Amor' apart from a couple of light clicks right at the beginning.  'Cool Cat' again plays with wonderful sound but with one pop towards the end although I can't see what is causing this.  Perhaps a manufacturing fault.  The classic 'Under Pressure' ends the album with superb audio and no distortion which is very much a rarity on this album.  It is quite possibly the best version I have heard on an early pressing and is a fabulous end to an often underrated album.

Cover

The glossy cover is one of the best I have seen in a long time.  The edges are very clean with only a minor, very minor ! amount of rubbing, hardly worth mentioning really.  The thin spine is in great condition with just a little compressing and remains 100% legible.  The corners are also very clean with just a little 'pinching' on the bottom right one.  The front and back cover are in pristine condition with no marking and whilst the opening edge looks hardly handled there is just one tiny 'nick' that can be seen on the front cover.  It really is miniscule and I only mention it to be complete in my grading, most sellers would not!  Overall though a lovely example of this cover and one of the 'cleanest' you will find.

Lyric inner  

The thick card inner with rounded corners is in perfect condition with no splits or marking at all.  Stunning!

The labels

With just a couple of small marks around the spindle hole they are in near perfect condition with very little spindle wear and no writing.
