Queen : Innuendo A2/B2 1st Press Original 1991
This first pressing from 1991 plays to a very high standard and S2 in particular is superb! It has no interference at all and the only obvious 'imperfection' on S1 are three consecutive clicks on the second track - aside from that it plays incredibly well. This is definitely an album that has hardly been played based on the quality of the audio and the total lack of spindle wear. This album is now 30 years old but it has certainly been very well preserved down the years.
The cover is in great condition with hardly any wear and for once has no obvious marking/staining. The lyric inner is in immaculate condition, 'as new' in fact.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in lovely condition with a very strong glossy sheen and has no marks or scratches. It does have one tiny needle drop indent on S1 but this is the only negative. I can only detect a few very faint sleeve removal hairlines on S1 and S2 is absolutely stunning with no faults at all. The run out grooves are super clean and the labels are also in perfect condition with no spindle wear or marking.
Play grading
The intro on 'Innuendo' has only very minimal static and once the volume increases the audio is superb. It plays with incredible depth and power and then the quieter Spanish guitar section plays with very impressive clarity. So often this section has a fair amount of static/crackle but I heard only a 3/4 light ticks here, nothing intrusive. The remainder of this classic plays loud and true with no interference - just a little static on the fade out. A stunning version overall! I would grade the intro as Ex+ and the rest as Near Mint although the majority is better than that!'I'm Going Slightly Mad' has a minimal amount of barely audible static on the intro and then plays with great clarity for the vast majority. There are three light clicks near the middle but this is the only intrusion and Ex is about right here.
'Headlong' has only a couple of light static sounds on the intro and then plays with stunning clarity and power for the remainder. I heard only a couple of very light ticks and there are no clicks or pops at all. Mint-
'I Can't Live With You' plays with superb audio from the get go and the only 'background' is a little static on the fade out. Mint-
The final track 'Ride The Wild Wind' has only minimal light static and one dull click on the intro and then plays with stunning audio for the remainder. There is no inner groove distortion and a Near Mint is an honest assessment of the audio overall.

'All God's People' on S2 plays with STUNNING audio and no interference. I turned this one up loud the playback is spectacular to say the least. There is no distortion and the power and depth of the audio is so strong. A Mint- start to the side.
The classic 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' plays so well for a relatively quiet track with no intrusion on the audio. There are no clicks or pops and only a handful of mega light ticks which are very difficult to 'pick up' anyway. I will grade as Near Mint just to be safe :-)
The quirky 'Delilah' is Mint with no 'background' at all. No need for any other detail!
'Don't Try So Hard' so often has some interference and yet the clarity here is outstanding! The quiet intro for once has no 'background' and the first vocal and chorus are of the same 'high end' standard. It continues to play with stunning precision and has to be one of the best versions I have heard in a long time. There is one static tick right at the end of the fade out but this is easily Mint- as there are no negatives.
As you would expect 'The Hitman' plays with very powerful audio throughout and again there is no interference. I've always thought the drums are far too low in the mix here but hey who am I to criticise! Mint
The gentle 'Bijou' plays beautifully with no 'background' and that is a genuine rarity. This abridged version is 'as new' and Mint is very much deserved. What a version!
'The Show Must Go On' plays with wonderful quality from the iconic intro right through to the end. This is such a powerful version and I really cannot find any faults. As it is the final track on the album you will often find this classic playing with distortion...but not here! The sonic quality is breathtaking and you would have to travel far and wide to find a version as good as this! There is NO distortion at all and even the 'Go on' repetitive end section has barely any static. A fabulous end to the album and Mint is an easy grade to give here.
In summary this first pressing plays to a superb standard with only very minimal interference on S1. S2 in particular is so impressive and plays with a clarity and power you rarely find. 'As new' is an honest assessment for S2 and S1 is not far behind with the only intrusion being the three consecutive clicks on '...Slightly Mad'.
The Cover & Lyric Inner
The cover is in excellent condition with only very minimal shelf wear. The edges are perfectly clean with no rubbing and the spine is also in great shape with only the third N of Innuendo faintly obscured. There is barely any corner wear and the opening edge looks untouched. The front cover is so often marked/stained but this one is very clean with only one small speck and a very faint line above it. I was able to rub out the majority of it but it has left a slightly glossy sheen around it. For once there is barely any fading around the edges and the visual 'look' is very impressive. The back cover is in superb order and again has barely any fading around the edges. A fine example overall.
The lyric inner is in perfect condition with no side splits or tears and no creasing either.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers
