Live At Wembley '86 (Original Double Vinyl LP)

This stunning original UK pressing from 1992 is the second album I am selling from an immaculate Queen collection I recently purchased.  The previous owner only played them once and then stored them carefully in a plastic PVC sleeve for safekeeping.  The audio here is of a 'high end' quality and the gatefold and inners are also in superb condition.

Visual grading

These vinyls have been so well cared for and you can tell they have only been played the once.  They are super clean, as are the run out grooves, and have no spindle wear.  S3 does have one mega tiny faint scratch mark but apart from that there are only a very small number of very faint short hairlines.  For 25 years old they really are visually stunning and look practically as new.

Play grading

There is a minimal amount of lead in static on S1 and 'One Vision' then plays with incredible power and depth and no interference.  This dynamic quality continues and every track plays with sublime audio.  There are no negatives!  Freddie's spoken intro on S2 has a little static but then the first track 'Who Wants To Live Forever' does not disappoint and the intro has only a few light static sounds here and there.  The music still plays very clearly and the second half is nigh on perfect.  'I Want To Break Free' plays with stunning precision as do the remainder of the tracks.  There were a couple of light clicks on the 'Impromptu' section but aside from that it is Mint quality to the end.  'Brighton Rock' and 'Now I'm Here' impress with superb power and clarity and no distortion.

'Love Of My Life' on S3 plays with great clarity apart from 3/4 light clicks at the very start and a couple of other towards the end.  Not quite perfect but hey this is vinyl!  However, what follows is a stunning version of 'Is This The World We Created...?' apart from one static sound.  'Bohemian Rhapsody' again is superb from start to finish as is 'Hammer To Fall' and both play with Mint quality audio.  S4 begins in superb style with a great rendition of 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' that has no 'background' whatsoever.  'Radio Ga Ga' is another stunning highlight and grades as Mint without doubt.  The remaining tracks on the side also deserve this grading as the depth, power and clarity is as if you are listening to a new vinyl!  'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions' are just breathtakingly good!

In summary the audio on all four sides is of a 'high end' quality and is most definitely one of best, if not best, versions of this double album I have ever heard.  Yes there is a touch of static at the beginning of each side but as any audiophile knows that is commonplace on vinyl and it does not detract from the overall stunning quality of the sound.  Again there are a small number of light clicks on S3 but by the very nature of vinyl this can occur and the vast majority still plays with wonderful clarity and indeed much of the side grades as Mint.  Now 25 years old, which is hard to believe, this 'Live At Wembley' double vinyl set will not disappoint.  

Gatefold cover

This gatefold is without doubt the cleanest I have ever seen.  It is in near perfect which is such a rarity as this is one of the gatefolds that is notoriously difficult to keep in anything resembling good condition.  The edges and wide spine have next to no rubbing and really the only area of wear is a very minor amount of rubbing on the two right hand corners.  Very minimal though!  The front and back cover are super clean and the inside is in immaculate condition as are the two opening edges.

Picture sleeves

The glossy thicker inners are unmarked and are in 100% perfect condition.  There are no splits etc and I never seen better.

The labels

There is no spindle wear to be seen and no writing on any of the labels.  The first one even has a little vinyl flecking (material) proving they have been rarely played, only the once in this case.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

I grade according to "Record Collector" guidelines.
