Queen : Live Killers Double LP (Japan) Red/Green Vinyl

This highly collectable double vinyl LP plays with immaculate audio and the 'whole package' is stunning.  The gatefold is in superb condition as are the inner sleeves, the lyric inner and the Obi.  Superb!

Visual grading

The vinyls have an incredible iridescent sheen that is visually stunning to say the least.  There are no hairlines and certainly no scratches and I would say only played once, twice at most as I could only detect one tiny spindle trace on two labels.  You need a magnifying glass though!  They have always been housed in anti-static sleeves and with super clean run out grooves also you will not find better.

Play grading  

S1 plays with stunning quality for the vast majority.  The louder tracks such as 'We Will Rock You' play with no distortion on the top end and the power and clarity of the sound is superb.  There are a handful of light clicks on the 'Death On Two Legs' but apart from that this side grades as Mint- without doubt.  The quiet sections during 'Get Down Make Love' play with incredible clarity and with no interference whatsoever.  S2 has a little static on the spoken intro but this soon disappears and 'Now I'm Here' then plays 'as new' the quality is stunning.  The true test of any vinyl is how well the quieter tracks play and I am pleased to say 'Dreamer's Ball' and 'Love Of My Life' play with perfect precision.  In fact every track here plays to the same exacting standard and for coloured vinyl the audio is of the highest quality.  Wow! 

There is one loud pop on the lead in to S3 but this is prior to the music so obviously does not interfere.  'Don't Stop Me Now' is then faultless with no 'background' of any kind.  A much louder/rawer version this is stunning.  'Spread Your Wings' is another fine example of a vinyl rarely played and plays 'as new' once more.  The long version of 'Brighton Rock' plays with immense power and clarity and the quieter sections are just sublime.  This is the 'cleanest' most impressive version of this classic I have ever heard on this Japanese pressing.  It is so quiet in many sections and yet the clarity is astounding.  S4 is of the same quality and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' is absolutely mind-blowing!  There is no intrusive interference and the clarity and warmth of the audio is again of a superlative standard.  Every track on this side again plays to the same 'high end' standard and 'Tie Your Mother Down' and 'We Will Rock You' in particular are stunning, I have never heard better.  No distortion and not one iota of interference.  'We Are The Champions' and 'God Save The Queen' end this classic album with perfect clarity and power in equal measure.

In summary this final upgrade archive version plays to near perfection.  With just one brief section of interference on S1 this is audio of supreme quality.  Of course it's good to know that every side has been played rather than just a visual guess of the audio!  The overall package is stunning - the gatefold, inners, lyric sleeve and Obi are all in superb condition.

The Gatefold

This gatefold is quite simply the cleanest I have ever seen.  There is nothing to detract from its stunning visual quality!  The edges and wide spine are 'as new' and the corners are in fantastic shape also.  There is just one tiny (mega small!) corner crease on the back cover but blink and you miss it!  There is no wear on the opening edges and the front and back plus the inside are all in pristine condition.  The Obi is nigh on perfect with only very faint spotting at the top on the inside of the gatefold, barely visible really.  If you want a 'Live Killers' gatefold that is practically Mint then this is the one to own!

The Lyric sleeve & Inner sleeves

The LP sized fold out lyric sleeve (lyrics in Japanese and English) is in near perfect condition with only one very faint mark on the back and only one very minor corner crease.  The red and green inner sleeves are extremely clean with no splits or tears, just a small amount of light creasing and a little ringwear as is common.

The labels

With only one barely visible spindle line on the S2 and S3 label they are all 'as new' and in perfect condition.  No marking or writing to be seen.
