Queen : Live Magic A1/B2 1st Press Original 1986
This first pressing plays to a wonderful standard and 'as new' is a term that can be used here. The clarity and definition of the audio is stunning and there is no interference on either side. As usual I have played the album in full so as to provide the 'complete' grade. This is clearly a record that has been so well preserved over the last 36 years and I would say hardly played. A FINAL UPGRADE time warp classic.
The gatefold is quite possibly the finest example I have ever seen. There is no obvious wear and has probably been stored in a pvc sleeve all its life. The picture inner is also in pristine condition, it looks like it has never been handled! A stunning 'all round' package.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in great condition and still has a lovely glossy sheen and no marks or scratches. Under a strong light I can only detect a small number of faint sleeve removal hairlines and the labels are super clean with no marking and no spindle wear. A stunning vinyl!
Play grading
The intro on 'One Vision' is faultless and from then on plays with tremendous power and depth and no interference whatsoever. This is easily a Mint start to the album.'Tie Your Mother Down' and 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' play to the same high end standard with no intrusion either. The audio is so strong and clear and there are no ticks, clicks or pops and no static either. Mint is again very much deserved.
'A Kind Of Magic' provides further evidence of a vinyl rarely played as the sonic quality just could not be any more impressive. Heavier than the standard version of course it plays with stunning precision throughout. Mint
Next up is 'Under Pressure' and I am pleased to say there is no decrease in quality. The clarity and definition of the audio is as good as it would have been back in '86. From start to finish it plays so well and Mint is again an easy grade to give.
'Another One Bites The Dust' ends the side with imperious quality once more. There is no interference, no distortion and the clarity of the recording is flawless. Even the Freddie singalong at the end plays to perfection! Mint

'I Want To Break Free' on S2 carries on where S1 left off and plays 'as new' with no 'background' at all. Mint in every way
The classic 'Is This The World We Created?' for once plays beautifully with not so much as a single dust tick let alone anything more. It is Mint which is a genuine rarity.
The perennial 'Bohemian Rhapsody' again plays with sublime quality with no sign of any interference. Another stunning Mint track.
This quality is very much kept on the remaining tracks and there no need to describe them all individually. I will just say though that 'Hammer To Fall' is superb! It plays with a real dynamic quality with no distortion at all. 'Radio Ga Ga' is just as good as is 'We Will Rock You' and the brief version of 'Friends Will Be Friends'. 'We Are The Champions' ends proceedings with stunning clarity and depth once more. Of course we cannot forget the now apt 'God Save The Queen' which plays with flawless precision from the first note to the last. In essence and as per S1 all tracks play to a Mint standard.
In summary this first pressing plays as you would want it to i.e. with stunning sonic quality on both sides equal to that of an unplayed record. I have sold a number of these down the years and for some reason I always find some interference somewhere but...not on this version! The clarity, depth and warmth of audio is very impressive indeed and together with a superb cover and inner this is about as good as it gets!
The Gatefold & Picture Inner
The glossy cover is near perfect with only a couple of tiny rubs on the edges. The wide spine is unbelievably clean and all corners have no obvious wear at all. The opening edges are pristine and the front, back and inside are immaculate also. So often I find the back cover has a split on the top edge but that is not the case here. A superb cover that I will grade as Near Mint but maybe even that is a little harsh.
You will not be surprised to hear that the glossy inner is also in perfect condition with no sign of any wear.
