Description

Queen : Made In Heaven A2 / B2 (Cream Vinyl)

This limited edition album from 1995 plays to a standard that is so rarely found today.  The audio is 'as new' apart from a couple of ticks on S2 and the clarity and depth is quite simply outstanding.  I would not be surprised if this had never been played before such is the sonic quality on offer here.  As you would expect there is no spindle wear on the labels.

The gatefold is in excellent condition with only minor wear and the three posters are pristine.  The lyric inner is also in perfect condition.

Visual grading

The vinyl is in beautiful condition with no scratches and I cannot detect even a single hairline.  S2 has one faint mark which I am sure is a pressing issue, I have often seen similar on other versions.  It has an immaculate glossy sheen and has clearly hardly ever been played judging by the audio quality and the complete lack of spindle wear.  The run out grooves and labels are also in superb condition.

Play grading

For once the quiet intro on 'It's A Beautiful Day' plays beautifully with barely any 'background'.  It so often has a lot of static/crackle on the opening grooves and yet there is only a couple of mega light static ticks here.  As the vocal begins the audio is 'as new' and it continues in the same way with no intrusion at all.  It's rare for this opening track to play with such impressive clarity and Mint- is more than deserved.  The long fade out has no 'background' whatsoever.

'Made In Heaven' is immaculate from the first groove to the last with no sign of any interference.  A fantastic Mint version if ever there was one!  The sonic quality is equal to that of a vinyl that has never been played.

'Let Me Live' is of the same 'high end' standard and plays with stunning power and depth throughout.  The definition of the audio here is just mind-blowing!  And as always I have played every second so as to provide a comprehensive grading, no lifting the needle on and off here!  This is Mint without a doubt.

The classic 'Mother Love' also plays with sublime quality.  I have no wish to sound repetitive but there is no 'background' at all, not even a dust tick.  There are a number of quiet sections and yet the clarity cannot be faulted.  100% stunning and Mint once more.

'My Life Has Been Saved' ends the side with near perfect audio with no interference.  I say near perfect because there is just a minor touch of inner groove distortion.  I may well be doing myself a disservice here because it is so minimal and you always find it on this track anyway and should not be downgraded as such.  It is still a superb version and provides a Mint- end to the side.

--------------------------------------------------------------

The intro on 'I Was Born To Love You' again plays with faultless precision and from then on continues to play with exceptional quality.  Has this vinyl ever been played before?!  There is no interference and Mint is deserved.

With such a quiet intro on 'Heaven For Everyone' you would expect a little 'background' but there is not even a solitary dust tick!  The playback is so 'clean' and to think this record was pressed 25 years ago!  It plays 'as new' to the final note and Mint is an easy grade to give.  I am just writing what I hear - as my regulars know I do not exaggerate my gradings.

'Too Much Love Will You' plays beautifully from the intro to the fade out and is one of the finest examples I have ever heard.  With only a small number of dust ticks (not really worth a mention) and 3/4 very light static ticks (you could easily miss them) you could hardly find a more impressive version.  It is of course such an emotive track and I am more than happy to grade it as Mint- it is that good.  The super quiet end section has no 'background' at all!

'You Don't Fool Me' plays with wonderful depth from start to finish.  The audio is flawless and the bass is so strong of course adding another dimension to the track.  I cannot emphasise enough how well it plays and is Mint all the way!

'A Winter's Tale' is nigh on perfect with only a couple of gentle ticks after the first chorus.  Aside from that you cannot fault the audio but will grade as Near Mint- as it falls just short of the preceding quality.

'It's A Beautiful Day (reprise)' has such a quiet intro and yet there is no interference and the first verse is just as good.  From there on the audio is superb and as the volume increases it can be described 'as new'.  This entire 'high octane' section is so strong and provides a stunning end to this very collectable record.  Mint without doubt.

In summary this album plays to a wonderful standard with a clarity and definition that you so rarely find.  Coloured vinyl often does not play as well as standard vinyl but that is certainly not the case here.  With only a couple of seconds of minor interference any collector would be so impressed by the audio quality on offer here.  This has a sonic quality so rarely found on these first pressings - a stunning LP for sure.

The Gatefold

The cover is in excellent condition with only a little wear.  The top edges are very clean with only one small indent on the back and the bottom edges do have a little rubbing which is common.  The wide spine is in great order with only a couple of minor marks and only a little rubbing on the bottom corner.  The right hand corners are very clean with barely any wear and the opening edges have no handling wear either.  The front cover is in excellent shape with only a couple of white 'specks'.  Near the top edge there are a further three very small 'specks' which look to have been coloured in with some blue pen!  All a bit strange!  The back cover is similar, very clean overall but with some 'specks' near the top edge with three coloured in again.  A few more tiny white specks in the centre and lower right but it is only minor and not that obvious.  The inside of the gatefold is immaculate I am pleased to say.  Not a perfect cover but like I say the 'wear' is relatively minor.

The Lyric Inner, Posters & Flyer

The glossy lyric inner is in superb condition with no side splits or marking, it is 'as new'.  The same can be said for the posters which have perhaps never been opened!  The small 'flyer' is in perfect condition also.

The Labels

They are super clean with no writing or marking although there is one small 'scratch' type mark near the spindle hole on S1 which was caused during the pressing I am sure.  There is no actual spindle wear as stated.
