NEWS OF THE WORLD 1/2 first pressing
On offer here is an excellent first pressing of News of The World. As detailed below the audio is of a very high standard and the gatefold has also been taken great care of.

Visual grading
Under a bright light there are no hairlines or scratches to be seen. There are just a couple of faint marks on the last track of Side One but does not affect the audio in any way. It retains that lovely glossy sheen of new vinyl and I could only see a couple of small spindle lines on one side of the label. Overall a supremely clean looking vinyl.
Play grading
Side One begins with barely any static. 'We Will Rock You' then plays with wonderful clarity and is very loud through my speakers! The audio plays almost as Mint with just one click as the song finishes. 'We Are The Champions' plays in similar fashion with again two dull light clicks towards the end. near the and it then plays nigh on perfectly. The rest of the side has great clarity with just a touch of very quiet intermittent static but nothing that detracts from the audio. 'All Dead All Dead' is a real highlight and plays exceptionally well for such a quiet track.
'Get Down Make Love' has a little light static at the beginning but still plays very clearly. After twenty or so it plays as Mint if I'm honest. The depth of sound on this quality vinyl is stunning. The recording is also extremely loud in the production mix so the bass comes through very strong and the overall sound, as I have stated, plays loud and reverberates so well. 'Sleeping On The Sidewalk', 'Who Needs You' and 'It's Late' continue the trend and play superbly well with nigh on perfect audio. 'My Melancholy' Blues has some very light static but again this is not intrusive and plays superbly well.
The audio on this first pressing is of a very high standard and would not disappoint any fan. With just some barely audible static here and there and a couple of clicks this is just a shade off being Near Mint. The majority of it does play as Near Mint in my opinion.
Gatefold cover
The G & L gatefold has stood the test of time extremely well and is very clean indeed. So many of these are battered! The edges and wide spine only have absolute minimal rubbing. There is a touch of wear on the top corner and one tiny area of wear on one of the edges on the back cover but there are no marks anywhere and the inside of the gatefold is supremely clean. Overall this gatefold is in excellent condition with only superficial shelf wear. It is without doubt one of the best you will find for a 1/2 first pressing.
Lyric inner
This die-cut lyric inner is in wonderful condition when you consider it is made of paper. So often they have major splits but this one just has a small 3cm area of wear to one side. Other than that it is extremely clean with no marks anywhere.

I would grade the vinyl as Ex++ but Near Mint for the majority
