QUEEN NEWS OF THE WORLD US PROMO LP BOX WITH PRESS KIT
From 1977 comes this special promo box sent out to press and radio to promote Queen's then-current LP News Of The World (Elektra 6E-112), containing a stock pressing of the LP, seven black & white 8x10 photos (three of the band and one apiece of each group member), two stickers of the album's artwork (rendered by celebrated illustrator Kelly Freas), the 10-page Queen News 1977 Year In Review press release, and a 4-page mock newspaper. Unfortunately, the 25-page fan club biography known to have been included in some copies of this box is missing.
The outer box is in excellent condition in spite of some creasing and scratching in addition to a bit of basic shelf wear and a piece of cellophane tape over the opening flap on its back. The LP is in excellent condition as is its gatefold sleeve, which does have a small cut-out hole in its upper right-hand corner plus a faint record impression and some minor corner impacting. The photos, stickers, press release, and mock newspaper are very fine to near mint with just the occasional trace of handling wear.
