SHEER HEART ATTACK (3U/3U) First Pressing

This first pressing of Sheer Heart Attack is in stunning condition.  The vinyl, the cover and the lyric inner are all in pristine condition and I have honestly never seen or heard a better one.  A true archive copy that any avid fan would love to own!

  Many think that 3U/4U are the first known matrix numbers but this is not actually true.  According to Queenmuseum.com the first reported commercial issue has matrix numbers 3U/3U so the one I am selling is even more rare.  The fact that it is as near to Mint as you will find makes it all the more rare and highly collectible.  3U/3U pressings are actually known to be extremely rare, probably only 2000 were pressed and is certainly a lot rarer than the 3U/4U pressings. 

I am not one to over-estimate but I think it would be nigh on impossible to find a better 3U/3U first pressing than this.   It definitely has the wow factor!

Visual grading

  Absolutely amazing!  Yes I am good at using superlatives ! but this vinyl is so clean it looks unplayed.  I have inspected it under a very strong bright light and I could not find one hairline, scratch or blemish, it is quite simply in stunning 'as new' condition.  This first press has obviously hardly ever seen the light of day let alone been played much.  What a find!

Play grading  

There is no need to individually summarise every track on this record.  I have played the vinyl in its entirety and the audio is quite simply the best I have ever heard.  the whole of Side One plays without static and there are no clicks at all.  A bold statement but it plays 'as new'.  I am always very impressed with the level of reverb and depth of sound on the early pressings and this 3U/3U does not disappoint.  The bass is so strong and plays through the speakers superbly.  I often find that 'Flick of the Wrist' and 'Now I'm Here' play with certain degree of distortion.  Here I would say there is only minimal distortion towards the end of the final track.  It's incredible to think this vinyl is 42 years old.    

Side Two continues with the same stunning audio with fantastic clarity throughout.  The sound is simply immaculate.  I will however have to mention that there is one click right at the beginning of 'Misfire'.  Apart from that it is sheer perfection.  '..Lap of the Gods..revisited' plays with slight distortion which, as I often say, is very common with final tracks on a side where the grooves are pressed closer together.

A genuine archive copy that is impossible to improve upon.  This really is the holy grail where Sheer Heart Attack is concerned.

Cover

The G & L laminated cover is the best I have seen for any pressing let alone a first press.  The laminate is commonly creased badly but not here.  It is bordering on being of absolute Mint quality!  There is no wear to the edges, spine or opening edge whatsoever.  You could not improve upon this cover.

Lyric inner

In keeping with the rest of the LP this lyric inner is in near perfect condition.  It has the three cut corners as per the first pressings and has no splits, tears or marks anywhere.  In amazing condition when you consider it is made with paper.
