Description
Queen : Thank God It's Christmas (Brazil LP)
This now very rare compilation LP was pressed in Brazil by EMI Odeon in 1985 and is highly collectable today. Interestingly it uses the same design that was used for the standard 'Thank God It's Christmas' 12'' single in the UK but with the tracklisting printed on the back of the cover. How they decided on the tracks is interesting to say the least! For example 'Body Language' is sandwiched between 'Radio Ga Ga' and 'Tie Your Mother Down' on S2!
The audio plays to an excellent standard overall with very little interference and the record visually could not look any better, it is stunning! The rare cover has only a little shelf wear and still has the original Brazilian stickers attached to the back.
Please wait for the invoice before making payment thank you.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in beautiful condition and there can't be many around as impressive as this! In all honesty it looks 'as new' and even on very close inspection I can only find a couple of mega faint sleeve removal hairlines. This has hardly ever been played if at all! There are no scratches, marks or spindle wear and it has a jet-black glossy sheen that you find with new vinyl not one that is 34 years old! The run out grooves and labels are also in pristine condition. A fantastic example.
Play grading
'One Vision' plays superbly right from the start with only one light tick on the intro. There is no intrusive static or crackle and the remainder plays with great depth and power and no interference. There is just a minimal amount of light static on the fade out but overall a very impressive Near Mint start. 'I Want To Break Free' is just as good and aside from one light tick towards the end the audio could hardly be any better. The remaining tracks on S1 play to a very similar standard, the clarity is exceptional for such a rare pressing. There is only the absolute minimum of light static but in no way does it intrude on the quality of the listen. I have played every track in its entirety and there are no clicks or pops. There is just a little more static during 'Las Palabras De Amor' but it is quiet and again non-intrusive. The 'live' version of 'Love Of My Life' ends the side with stunning clarity and this is rare for any final track and especially for such quiet track on a foreign pressing! An Ex+ grading is an honest appraisal for the side as whole although the majority is better than that.
S2 has a little static hiss on the lead in grooves but 'Thank God It's Christmas' begins with no such problem, the intro is very 'clean' indeed. Overall it plays very well but there is one light click and a handful of light ticks but these are very much in the background. The majority plays with great clarity but will grade as Ex due to the reasons stated. The classic 'Radio Ga Ga' has only the lightest of static hiss in the background here and there but there are no clicks or pops. I think Ex is worthy here. 'Body Language' plays with even greater clarity and barely any static. The vast majority is Near Mint the playback is so strong. There are a few light ticks on the 'Tie Your Mother Down' intro but as soon as the volume increases the audio cannot be faulted. It plays with immense power and there is no distortion at all. 'Back Chat' plays nigh on perfectly and the 'live' version of 'We Are The Champions' ends the album in fine style with very powerful audio and only a little inner groove distortion. A very impressive version.
In summary this rare Brazilian LP plays with excellent quality and has only one obvious click. It may not have the sonic quality of standard UK vinyl but the clarity is nonetheless very impressive and has only a little static here and there. The record is visually stunning and I doubt if there is a better 'looking' one out there!
The Cover
This rare cover has only a little shelf wear and remains strong with no side splits. The edges and thin pinched spine have hardly any rubbing and only the bottom two corners have some creasing. There are also a few faint creases around the edges and a crease mark on the top left of the front cover although not that obvious. The front cover itself is very clean with no real marking, just some very minor spotting. The back cover is of a similar standard with one very tiny 'nick' by the opening edge. The opening edge by the way has no handling wear at all. Considering its rarity the cover is impressive and has no major wear of any kind. The vinyl has always been contained within a thin plastic sleeve as it was never issued with a lyric/picture inner.
The Labels
They are in lovely condition with no spindle wear and no marking or writing. They are 'as new'.
