The Game

This very early pressing plays with immaculate audio and the 'foil' cover is still contained within its original shrinkwrap making it even more collectable.  It has a low matrix so I would think this qualifies as a second pressing.

Visual grading

This is another Queen vinyl I am selling that visually is in pristine condition.  It has hardly been played and I can only detect a couple of wispy lines on S2.  This pays testament to the 'high end' audio on offer.  The vinyl has a remarkable mirror like glossy sheen and looks 'as new' with no hairlines, scratches or marks.  A beautiful example of this mega early pressing.

Play grading  

'Play The Game' has only the lightest of background static for 3/4 seconds which is barely audible and then plays with superb clarity and depth for the remainder.  It plays 'as new' and the fade out plays with perfect precision also giving you a prime example of just how good the clarity is here.  'Dragon Attack' is of the same standard and the precision of the audio is immaculate.  There is just no interference of any kind.  I am happy to say 'Another One Bites The Dust' continues in the same and is Mint all the way through.  As you would expect the bass is so powerful on this and the previous track and the intervening years have not dulled the sonic quality in any way.  I have rarely heard this album play so 'cleanly' on such an early pressing.  'Need Your Loving Tonight' is faultless and again grades as Mint the audio is could not be more impressive.  There is no distortion which is a rarity.  'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' has no 'background' and is another sublime listen.  I am selling a number of final upgrade archive Queen LPs and this is going to be another one!  The definition on this classic is just so good and provides a fantastic end to this 'as new' side.  Every second is of perfect quality and the hand clapping sequence and long fade out are supreme examples of this.  There really are not enough superlatives I can use for this side.  Audio does not get better than this!

One section that often has some interference is on the quiet 'Rock It' intro.  There is barely any here, just a minimal amount of non-intrusive light static and there are no clicks or pops.  A very impressive opening intro in anyone's opinion.  From thereon the audio is fabulous!  It rocks out with stunning depth and there is no interference at all.  'Don't Try Suicide' has a small number of mega light dust ticks on the intro but I'm not sure they are worthy of mention really - the clarity is still nigh on perfect.  The rest of the track plays very cleanly with just the odd quiet static sound here and there, nothing intrusive.  Overall it plays with great clarity and there are no loud clicks or pops.  'Sail Away Sweet Sister' is stunning from the very first note.  The intro is 'as new' and as the song progresses the quality barely decreases.  There are a couple of light static sounds on the second verse but that does not detract from what is 'high end' audio.  A breathtaking version without doubt.  The long fade out plays so cleanly with only a couple of light static sounds but no clicks.  'Coming Soon' is Mint from the word go and plays with unbeatable power and depth that you only find on the early pressings.  Such strong bass again and no 'background', just pure quality all the way through.  The quiet intro on 'Save Me' has to be heard to be believed!  Wow!!  There was not even a dust tick to be heard let alone anything else and this is as good an intro as you will ever hear.  This clarity continues to the end and I'm honestly not sure I've ever heard this classic track play with Mint quality but I think I have found one here!  It has a clarity and depth of sound you only find on a high quality vinyl pressed only yesterday!  So often final tracks have some interference but this is without doubt the 'cleanest' version I have ever heard and even the mega quiet piano fade out plays beautifully.

In summary the clarity is astounding on this early pressing and for a near 40 year old record to play as cleanly as this is a rare find indeed.  With only a handful of mega light static sounds on S2 the audio is stunning and whilst the 'foil' cover isn't perfect it's very rare to find one still inside its original shrinkwrap.

The Cover

This 'silver foil' cover is so difficult to keep clean and whilst this isn't perfect it has still been maintained extremely well.  As stated it is still aside the original 'shrink' with only a cut on the opening edge of course.  I can see the edges and spine are very clean with no rubbing/dings but there is a small amount of rubbing on the corners, nothing major though.  There are also a few small creases running down the edge of the spine.  The front and back cover are very clean of course, just a little ringwear on the latter.  This is an excellent example of this original cover.

The lyric inner  

This is in excellent condition overall with very light (barely visible!) creasing on the bottom edge and a couple of very faint marks on the lyric side.  There is also a very small side split but it really isn't that obvious at all.  Made with thick card it has the rounded corners as per the first/early pressings.

The labels

They are in superb condition with no writing or marking which is a rarity on these white labels.  There are just a couple of very faint wispy spindle lines on S2.
