This first pressing plays to a wonderful standard with barely any interference, the playback is superb!  There is no obvious static and the audio is exceptionally clean.

The cover is in great condition with very little shelf wear and the lyric inner is also in superb order.

 Visual grading

The vinyl is in lovely condition and it has hardly ever been played judging by the lack of spindle wear and the amazing quality of the audio.  There is only one mega faint spindle trace on each label.  The record has an impressive glossy sheen and no scratches and all I can detect are a small number of faint sleeve removal hairlines.  The run out grooves and labels are in superb condition, this really is a fantastic example of this first pressing.

Play grading

There is no static on the lead in grooves prior to the start of 'Party' and this opening track then plays 'as new' with audio that is as clear and dynamic as when first released over 30 years ago.  This grades as Mint the playback could not be any better. 

'Khashoggi's Ship' is of the same immaculate standard accept for 3/4 static sounds on the final guitar note.  Aside from that it plays with perfect precision and Near Mint is a fair assessment.

'The Miracle' also has a couple of static ticks on the intro but they are very quiet and non-intrusive.  From then on it plays with stunning clarity and depth and no 'background' of any kind, not even a dust tick.  The 'friends' end section and fade out are both faultless.  This is Mint- without a doubt.

I can confidently grade 'I Want It All' as Mint as there is quite simply no interference whatsoever.  The definition of the audio is equal to that of a vinyl that has been hardly played.

'The Invisible Man' is of the same 'high end' quality and again there is no 'background', and as I often say, not even a dust tick!  As you would expect there is a deep rich bass sound on this track and you could not wish to hear a better Mint version.  The fade out also plays with stunning perfect precision, a rarity for any final track, showing just how impressive the clarity is here.

'Breakthru' has one of the 'cleanest' intros I have ever heard!  So often it has a lot of static or crackle and yet all I heard here was a couple of mega light dust ticks.  It is as close to a perfect intro that you will find!  It continues to play with breathtaking quality and a Mint grade for the entire track is not an exaggeration.

'Rain Must Fall' is of the same sublime quality with not one iota of interference from start to finish.  The depth of the audio is incredible and the bass is so strong in the mix which is not surprising for a Deacon song I guess!

The intro on 'Scandal' regularly has 'background' but there are only a couple of dust ticks on this one.  Thereafter the audio is 100% stunning!  The sonic quality is first class and this is pure Mint audio throughout.  Wow what a version!

'My Baby Does Me' keeps up this impeccable standard with Mint audio...again!  No more needs to be said :-)

The slow build up intro on the classic 'Was It All Worth It' just has to be heard to be believed!  There is not so much as a dust tick and as the volume increases there is no decrease in quality.  The definition of the audio is so impressive with no inner groove distortion and it has to be one of the strongest version I have heard in a long time.  The 'orchestral' section is faultless and the only negative is one light click on the final guitar note.  The final keyboard section plays with perfect precision.  Even with the one click this is still worthy of a Near Mint grade as the remainder is just so damn good!

In summary this first press hardly puts a foot wrong!  It is one of the 'cleanest' examples I have ever heard and with only a couple of obvious clicks (not loud!) there is very little intrusion on the audio.  As stated it is very rare for the 'Breakthru', 'Scandal' and 'Was It All Worth It' intros to play as well as this and the remainder of the audio is rather good also!  There is no obvious static and this album will impress any Queen collector.

The Cover

This iconic cover is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear.  The top edge has one very small 'rub' area but it has not resulted in a split.  The bottom edge has only a couple of minor rubs and the same applies to the spine.  The corners have only minimal amount of wear and the opening edge has only a little handling wear also.  The front cover is exceptionally clean with no marking or scratching and the back cover is equally as good.  A fine example overall, not quite perfect but a lot better than so many you see!

The Lyric Inner

This is in beautiful condition with no real wear, just one mega tiny and barely visible crease by the thumb notch.

The Labels

They are in fantastic condition with only one tiny spindle trace on each side.  No marking or writing, 'as new' really :-)
